France is the easiest golf trip abroad from the UK. On the Opal Coast in northern France, Le Touquet, Hardelot, Wimereux and Aa Saint-Omer are all within an hour of Calais, so you can drive over with LeShuttle, play two or three classic courses and be home by Sunday night. For a bucket-list round, Le Golf National near Paris hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup.

- Golf du Touquet, La Mer – Harry Colt's championship links, a former French Open venue and one of the best courses in France.
- Golf du Touquet, La Forêt – A gentler pine-forest course, the perfect partner to La Mer.
- Golf d'Hardelot, Les Pins – Tom Simpson's 1934 woodland classic, with its famous par 3 13th.
- Golf de Wimereux – A traditional links from 1901, with a 17th along the cliff edge.

- Individual payments mean each golfer pays their own balance. No chasing your mates for money.

- Drive or fly: drive over for northern France; take the Eurostar or fly for Paris.

Getting to France
- Northern France: LeShuttle from Folkestone to Calais takes around 35 minutes. Le Touquet, Hardelot, Wimereux and Aa Saint-Omer are 40 to 60 minutes' drive from Calais.
- Paris: take the Eurostar from London to Paris, or fly. Le Golf National is at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, south-west of the city near Versailles.

Beyond the golf
On the Opal Coast, stroll Le Touquet's beach and boulevards, take in the views from Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, explore Boulogne's walled old town and stock up on wine and cheese before the drive home. In Paris, visit the Palace of Versailles and spend an evening in the city.
