UK golf breaks at a glance

A golf break in the UK is the easiest trip to organise: no flights, no passports and some of the best courses in the world a drive or train ride away. Play a Ryder Cup course in the Midlands, the Open links of Scotland, Kent or Lancashire, or a resort with a spa and a big night out on the doorstep.

We put the whole trip together: hotel and tee times in one booking, with small deposits and each golfer paying their own share. Most groups go for one night and two rounds, or two nights and three rounds, but we can build anything from a society day to a week touring the links.

One night, two rounds: the classic golf weekend. Ideal for a society trip or a birthday.

Two nights, three rounds: time for a proper night out and a lie in, or a second course nearby.

Midweek: the same break is often cheaper Sunday to Thursday, and tee times are easier to get.

Where to go for a UK golf break

For the best links golf: St Andrews & Fife, Ayrshire, East Lothian and the Highlands in Scotland, the Lancashire coast and Kent in England, and the Causeway Coast.

For a Ryder Cup course: The Belfry in the West Midlands and Celtic Manor in Newport.

For a golf resort with a spa: Slaley Hall in the North East, Forest Pines in Yorkshire & the Humber, the Vale Resort near Cardiff and Gleneagles near Perth. See all golf and spa breaks.

For golf and a night out: Glasgow, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Newcastle, close to Slaley Hall. Planning a stag? See our golf stag dos.

For the best value: the East of England, the East Midlands and Glasgow, with breaks from around £100pp.

Planning a group golf break in the UK

Small deposits secure your tee times and rooms early, which matters for summer weekends.

Individual payments: each golfer pays their own balance, so nobody has to chase the group.

One booking: hotel, golf and any extras, with one team to call.

Travel: most groups drive or take the train. For bigger groups, we run golf coach trips.

Societies: we look after golf societies of every size. See the GroupiaGolf Society.

UK golf break FAQs

Scotland is the home of golf, with St Andrews, Carnoustie, Royal Troon and Turnberry. England has the most choice, from The Belfry and Woodhall Spa to the Open links of Kent and Lancashire. Wales has Celtic Manor and Royal Porthcawl, and Northern Ireland has the Causeway Coast links.

Our UK golf breaks start from £99pp for one night and two rounds. Most one night breaks at well known golf resorts cost between £115pp and £215pp, and bucket list trips to St Andrews or the Ayrshire coast cost more.

A stay and play break puts your hotel and golf in one price. Most of our UK breaks are one night and two rounds, or two nights and three rounds, often with breakfast and sometimes dinner included.

Yes, societies and big groups are what we do best. We hold tee times and rooms on a small deposit, and each golfer pays their own balance. See the GroupiaGolf Society.

For a big resort with more than one course, The Belfry, Gleneagles, Celtic Manor and Slaley Hall are the favourites. For a bucket list stay, the Old Course Hotel at St Andrews and Trump Turnberry are hard to beat.

Yes, but tee times are limited and in high demand, with some given out by ballot. Tell us your dates as early as you can and we will check what is possible. Our St Andrews breaks also include Kingsbarns, Dumbarnie and the Duke's.

Yes. Many of our UK golf resorts have a spa, including The Belfry, Slaley Hall, Celtic Manor and Fairmont St Andrews. See our golf and spa breaks.

May to September has the longest days and the best weather. Spring and autumn are quieter and often cheaper, and links courses play well all year round.

Yes. We run golf coach trips for groups, so nobody has to drive and the clubs travel with you.

Yes. Northern Ireland is part of the UK and has its own page, and across the border we have Dublin, Kerry, Cork and Galway. See golf holidays in Ireland.
